Temperature: 16C (63F), Sunny, Winds 5knots

Water Temperature: 64F

Water resource: Lake Clair (part of ZEC des Nymphes)

Background: Last day of fishing trip. Fish limit of trout is 15 per person and we have only 4 fish left to reach our limit. We are granted fishing rights on Lake Clair but must respect our limit of 4 fish.

Fishing Technique: Light tackle, spinning reels. 8 lbs and 6 lbs line ultra clear. Using Lake-Clear spinner on one line and Toronto Wobbler on second line. A 24 inch line is attached to the spinners with a #3 hook with live worms. Slow troll with lines approximately 150 feet behind the boat.

Results: The first strike is within 20 minutes from leaving the dock. A 3.5lbs rainbow trout is pulled into the boat after approximately a 10 minute struggle. The next three rainbow trout are all over 2 lbs and are very energetic and combative. Total fishing time is from 08:30 to 10:00 am.

Rating of Outfitter (Real Masse):
This outfitter is one of, if not the best outfitter in Quebec. Located within 1.5 hours of Montreal, this outfitter has maintained the highest levels of customer service and quality of facilities. Restaurant facilities are exceptionally clean and spacious, and food is very close to gourmet levels. Accommodations are exceptionally clean and spacious, thus bringing spouses is no problem. Access to lakes within the outfitters territory is provided with 4 wheel ATVs. Boats and ATVs are cleaned after each use, thus providing guests with clean and functional facilities. At the organizational level, all staff are courteous, and provide all the information that is required to make your stay an enjoyable event. The owner Mr. Masse is a character, he knows his lakes, he knows his business and he knows how to make your stay memorable.

Overall rating: Five Fish (five stars)
