Bad Weather, Good Musky

With the weather forcast calling for unstable weather I decided to troll close to home.
I targeted an area 15 feet deep with multiple drop-offs and good humps.
With one eye on the fishfinder and the other on the weather, I trolled with a small jointed stalker until my patience paid off and the familiar zzzzzzof the reel as the line started spinning off the reel woke me from my daydream. A big hit!

Being alone in the boat I had no-one to help with the net and the strong tug on the end of the line meant this was a nice fish. The fish stayed down deep and ran a couple of times , close to the boat it cleared the surface performing a great impression of a bass. With the rod in one arm and the net in the other I tried over and over to sweep the musky into the net, but the fish wouldn't co-operate and every time it saw the net it headed straight down under the boat. For awhile it was a stalemate, with me holding a rod and a big net and the musky staying put under the boat. After numerous attempts the musky backflipped into the net and we both took a needed rest. 47 inches , my biggest fish and toughest fight.
