DepthRaider

This was a depthraider weekend. All lures had been used saturday and sunday. But both fish caught on the day before we're on the same depthraider. And Sunday was no different.

The rocky structures in 15ft of water was the first target, and after 20 minutes into the structure the lines started spining out of the new reel. Loïc jumps to it while Rob takes the helm of the boat. It kept to the bottom and gave several big head shakes, but this was not the most excited fish we had ever seen. Its belly was quite full and didn't seem to eager to jumpe out of the water. The netting process was the most gracious we had ever seen, it almost seemed like it was in slow motion. But once the fish was in the net... we kept our hands away for a few minutes because this musky was not happy! it thrashed in the net for several minutes wearing itself twice over then the fight did. Finaly it settled down and the hook was removed.

Its important to always give these fish a good breather in the net (time to relax) before taking them out of the water for pictures.

The mesuring was done in the water with the craddle to reveal a surprise. this was a 45 inch fish? It didn't seem like it. The belly made for a 19inch girth and gave this fish a bit of weight.

A nice morning catch!
