Great day, great guide, great fish and a happy (not so) old man on his 50th birthday! My father's 50th was coming up and wanted him to have a great walleye day, not just a couple nice walleyes with a bunch of little perch sized ones. So I called Mike and asked him to give my old man the best walleye day of his life, well Mike delivered!
We setup one rod each in the back and started trolling areas that Mike knew was going to pull nice walleyes, we wanted big fewer big ones instead of a bunch of little ones. We visited the first area where walleye tournament winners know to be a big fish area for this time of year. The first hour only showed a couple pike, but the hour following the first was non stop mixed species action tagging big walleyes in the process. Mike is a great fisherman, and great guy. He was on his game and was sharp and knew fish hit before the clicker even responded. The fish hit the baits one after another with a couple partial double headers. The crew must of boated 30 fish, 15 walleyes and big bass and pike in the mix. All the bigest fish were released and the mid 2-3 pounders were ketp for a feast.
