I love to fish! It is that simple, the sport is my hobby and passion. This is why I started fishingisliving.com. The site allows me to stay in the fishing world even when I am in front of my computer. I am really looking forward to hearing from other online anglers who would share their fishing stories with us. Meeting new passionate anglers is one of my favourite things about having this fishing web site, it allows me to have a wider view as well as different perspectives about how I participate in the sport and that is worth every minute of my time working on this web site.
It has been almost a year since fishingisliving.com was launched, in that year the web site has allowed us to get in touch with great people online as well as on the water. From regular fisherman like us to some of the top names in the professional fishing world, I enjoyed every bit of it! I hope 2008 brings similar experiences and especially some good fishing stories!

February 11 2008 - Ice fishing
Went ice fishing finally on Sunday (see fish tales), I think I need to look at the map first and maybe get a gps before I go out next time. I was hoping to get walleye, so I did some research and found that during day time they will hold in a deeper structure and move shallow just before sunset. I started making holes in a Z pattern going from shallow to deep waters. Had my father fishing in the opposite depth I was, so if I was shallow he was deep. I was mostly trying to keep my angles covered while waiting to see who hit first. Well we kept moving but never found the walleyes. I blame it on two things; I did not know how deep I really was and did not refresh my memory of where the structures were. We found perch, but every time we did I was pretty sure that’s all we would catch at that spot, so I stayed in the spots to keep my fishing partners entertained so they would keep going , but ultimately only for a few perch and nothing more. We were using 3/8 once and ¼ once jigs with minnows. I was varying my jigging from slight twitches with several pauses to a feisty snap off the bottom and up again with rare pauses. The twitches and slower but steady movements seem to work better (well on the perch that is). If the weather warms up a bit this week I will be heading out again for a bit trying to find a couple walleyes.
Musky Lures
I was browsing YouTube for new fishing clips and found a video of muskysnax.com’s new walleye colour bait. Seeing that bait swim in the water with staying still in pauses made my jaw drop. I was hooked! I immediately clicked over to the manufacturer’s web site. These baits are handmade by 1 man! Every single bait, well balanced by hand, individually tested in the water for movement and sink rate. I am not a musky… but these things look damn good to me! They are bit on the pricy side of musky lures, but that’s all relative to what gives you in return, so I will definitely give them a try! Visit the web site to see the lures: http://www.muskysnax.com/ .

He also loves to fish for big musky.
Loic and Kelly share a grandmother which makes them cousins. They have always had a close relationship and this bond has gotten stronger through fishing. Loïc introduced Kelly to Robert Spencer, a few years ago. Robert is the uncle of Loïc’s wife. The three of them share a passion for fishing and hope they can translate this passion through this web site sharing their stories, secrets and humble knowledge of the sport.

Rob's first memory of fishing goes back to when he was 3 years old and his Dad put a big pike in the bath-tub.
The anticipation of landing a trophy fish, the adrenaline of catching one, the friendships, stories, and the good memories, all fuel his passion for the sport.
Quotes Rob ...." The sport is contagious and it's thrilling to see someone new to the sport get hooked. Fishing is living is a great site and a welcome forum. Without it , when I catch my next trophy musky, and rush home excited to tell everyone the reply would be "That's nice dear, now don't forget to take out the garbage and walk the dogs"
